Strong written and verbal communication skills

Experience developing and managing tenant housing support services

Work experience in community development work in Detroit neighborhoods outside of Greater Downtown

Strong relationship management skills

Experience working with Social Justice Organizations (SJO), Grass Root Organizations (GRO) and Community Development Organizations (CDO) in Detroit
-
Previous engagement with local Detroit stakeholders around increasing housing stability for tenants and/or homeowners in the city
Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience working in government, non-profits or direct services
-
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
-
Experience working in Detroit
-
Involvement with one or more of the following focus areas: arts and culture, public space initiatives, workforce development; or entrepreneurship

Strong data management and reporting experience
-
Basic familiarity with CRM and Project Management software: Salesforce, FLUXX, Asana, Trello

Experience working with or for corporate philanthropy or foundations
Job Summary
As a Detroit Community Initiatives, Senior Program Manager, you'll manage and develop grants, assist with sourcing new grant and partnership opportunities and implement projects and programs in close coordination with other Gilbert Family Foundation and Rocket Community Fund teams. This team member must have transparent, effective communication skills internally and externally. You'll be expected to act as a professional, conscientious and attentive ambassador for the Gilbert Family Foundation through all internal and external communications.
Responsibilities

Responsible for convening internal and external teams for large Gilbert Family Foundation program investments and initiatives
-
Assist with the management of existing and new Gilbert Family Foundation grant agreements
-
Work directly with the housing teams from the Rocket Community Fund and the Gilbert Family Foundation to develop, implement, iterate and evaluate housing programs
-
Responsible for the management and iteration of the Detroit Tax Relief Fund, Detroit Eviction Defense Fund programs
-
Responsible for the development, coordination and implementation of new programs related to anti-displacement housing efforts in Detroit
-
Identify and develop investments focused on tenant support services
-
Responsible for the development and management of investments that support access to estate and probate services and the systems that support said services
-
Manage the evaluation and efficacy of new and existing programs
-
Assist with the development of research and advocacy strategies for housing services
-
Work closely with Rocket Community Fund to learn from their local and national initiatives in order to scale what works for Detroit residents
-
Work closely with the operations team to ensure program metrics, reporting and infrastructure are in alignment with Gilbert Family Foundation strategy, mission and values
-
Deploy grants rooted in community engagement and data-driven decision-making
-
Work closely with the community stakeholders to identify projects that build economic opportunity for Detroiters
-
Vet potential community partners and grant proposals in alignment with internal strategies and values
-
Build and maintain relationships with local leaders to inform and support community engagement and outreach
-
Support internal processes to drive funding decisions: reporting, presentations, board meetings and more
-
Coordinate with the PR team and other creative professionals to develop storytelling opportunities that build trust and awareness
-
Consistently engage in local events related to community development, philanthropy, and other relevant topics to raise our collective level of awareness
-
Assist with the tracking and measurement of team Objectives and Key Results, Key Performance Indicators and program impacts using qualitative and quantitative data for all Gilbert Family Foundation teams

Assist the Director, DCI with special projects and other tasks as needed
