Marketing Creative Director - Rocket Mortgage

As a Marketing Creative Director, you’ll be responsible for the overall strategy, vision and direction of the Design and/or Content teams. You’ll oversee the creative direction of all design, content and/or photography work, ensuring outputs align with the company’s brand identity and creative and strategic goals. You’ll maintain a cohesive visual identity across design, content, and photography, while guiding teams to execute high-quality, brand-aligned projects and marketing goals.

  • Develop and set the overall vision and direction for the design department

  • Lead and manage creative teams, providing direction, inspiration and feedback

  • Develop and execute a cohesive visual strategy that aligns with the company’s brand

  • Ensure all creative outputs support the company’s brand and marketing goals and align with broader creative strategies

  • Assure collaboration is cross-functional to ensure design consistency and high-quality outcomes

  • Present creative work to clients and stakeholders, incorporating feedback into final designs

About you

Minimum qualifications

  • 12 years of experience in photography, design and/or content creation

  • 6 years of experience in art direction

  • 3 years of leadership experience

  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to inspire and manage a creative team

  • Experience in Adobe Creative Cloud, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign Lightroom and XD

  • Expert in Figma

  • Extensive portfolio showcasing creative concepts, layouts and completed design projects and a variety of photography styles and techniques

  • Proven experience in leading large-scale AI-driven creative projects

  • Expert ability to develop and execute a cohesive AI-enhanced visual strategy

  • Mastery of visual storytelling, branding, typography and color theory

  • Experience in content creation and creative direction across multiple platforms and mediums

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and experience overseeing creative work across multiple projects

  • Ability to effectively communicate conceptual and present ideas and technical processes to teams

  • Proven experience directing and overseeing photoshoots and video shoots, ensuring creative vision and quality execution

  • Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with sound and music partners to enhance visual storytelling

  • Extensive knowledge of the production process, from pre-production to post-production, including working with photographers, videographers, and creative teams

Preferred qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in design, art, photography, marketing, communication, journalism or a related field

  • Expert in scaling and communicating repeatable methodologies to internal and external teams

  • Proven ability to craft content across various media platforms while adhering to brand guidelines

  • Skilled in providing and implementing feedback, elevating design output, and influencing team members, peers and leadership

  • Proven ability to present and advocate for conceptual ideas to individuals, teams and leadership, ensuring alignment with business strategies and creative objectives

  • Proficient in managing cross-functional teams responsible for multiple projects while meeting deadlines

  • Proficiency in AI tools an asset

  • Experience in creative operations for business to business (B2B) and business to consumer (B2C) marketing and advertising
