Interns at the Rock Family of Companies gain priceless hands-on experience. Here, they learn how it feels to be in the workplace, participate in events and become a valuable member of our team.

Xome’s Quality & Communication Intern ensures product quality, user experience, and professional stakeholder communication across each five-day sprint cycle. Operating independently of the core development path, this intern develops testing strategies from requirements, executes user experience and accessibility validation, conducts security reviews of both application code and infrastructure configurations, and creates stakeholder-facing demo materials and documentation.

This intern does not write application code or provision infrastructure. They receive artifacts from Role A (requirements, design specs, application code) and Role B (infrastructure configurations, staging URLs, CI/CD pipeline status), validate them against quality standards, and feed findings back to both roles. Their output travels to stakeholders: demo scripts, presentations, accessibility reports, retrospective summaries, and program assessments.

The role uses Claude Code as the primary AI collaborator for test strategy generation, documentation drafting, and communication preparation, alongside specialized accessibility and security scanning tools. Human judgment is applied to quality threshold decisions, UX acceptability, and stakeholder communication style — areas where AI tools produce generic output that requires context and calibration.
