The Opportunity:

We are looking for an SIU Manager. In this role, you’ll play a critical role in enforcing the fundamental fairness on which our company was founded. You’ll be asked to safeguard our insureds and company, providing superior customer service while managing a team accountable for investigations of various types of insurance transactions. Our goal is to leverage technology, data, and a team of highly talented people to build a claims experience that is recognized as number 1 in the industry.

Root is a “work where it works best” company. Meaning we will support you working in whatever location that works best for you across the US. We will continue to have our headquarters in Columbus and offices in other locations to give more flexibility and more choice about how we live and work.

Salary Range: $85,000 to $90,000

How You Will Make an Impact:

  • Acts as a subject matter expert for the Claims Staff in fraud training, awareness, and investigation

  • Manages a team of SIU investigators; provides coaching, feedback, and case file quality monitoring

  • Ensures compliance with SIU reporting requirements to the Departments of Insurance within the states Root writes business

  • Engages in learning opportunities to build knowledge of personal lines claims, court decisions impacting the claims function, current guidelines in claims function, and policy changes and modifications

  • Assesses, develops, and implements internal controls associated with the quality of file handling

  • Provides technical claims recommendations in an effort to improve case outcomes

  • Provides input for continuous development of claims guidelines and best practices

  • Recommends potential product developments and process improvements

  • Recruit, retain and develop a highly motivated and accountable team of experienced and developing claim professionals

  • Always advocates for talent and builds capabilities to ensure strong leadership and technical talent bench strength

What You Will Need to Succeed

  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of claim team management

  • Must have a minimum of 3 years SIU experience combating insurance/self-insured fraud with a focus on automobile injury and property damage claims

  • Texas insurance license, AIC designation, or CPCU designation preferred

  • Strong understanding and application of laws, statutes, and regulations specific to fraud handling

  • Ability to work in partnership with third-party administrators

  • High sense of professionalism while remaining empathetic

  • Ability to approach problems with an open mind
