Overview of the Role:

This is a unique opportunity to join an innovative and forward-thinking team and play a role in shaping the future of work at Salesforce. As the Manager of Workplace Research within the Workplace Innovation team, you will contribute to generating a deep, evidence-based understanding of how our physical environments impact our employees and our business. This role offers the opportunity to execute robust research that translates into strategic insights and recommendations that influence corporate real estate decisions across our global portfolio. Your insights will be instrumental in ensuring our real estate strategy is not only responsive to current needs but also anticipates future needs and trends. The successful candidate will likely possess a combination of deep research expertise and broad strategic understanding, including an appreciation for the interconnectedness of workplace design, corporate real estate, technology, human behavior, and overall business objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute comprehensive workplace research initiatives, employing a mixed-methods approach (quantitative and qualitative) to understand employee needs, behaviors, and preferences.

  • Integrate data from diverse sources (e.g., surveys, occupancy sensors, observational studies, industry benchmarks) to generate actionable insights on the workplace environment, employee experience, productivity, and overall workplace effectiveness.

  • Quickly and accurately synthesize research findings into clear, actionable recommendations for project teams and stakeholders.

  • Partner closely with pilot programs to evaluate the effectiveness of innovative concepts, emerging technologies, furniture solutions, and service offerings.

  • Help refine research processes and tools to support agile and impactful insights.

  • Provide regular communication on research progress and findings to key stakeholders and project leads, ensuring alignment and addressing concerns.

  • Stay current with industry research, trends, and innovative workplace approaches relevant to ongoing projects.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline such as Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Architecture, Design, Human Factors, Business Analytics, Corporate Real Estate, or a related field. Experience will be evaluated based on the core competencies for the role (e.g. extracurricular leadership roles, military experience, volunteer roles, work experience, etc.).

  • 3+ years of experience in workplace research, corporate real estate research, design research, user experience (UX) research applied to physical spaces, or a similar role with a strong emphasis on conducting and applying both quantitative and qualitative research.

  • Demonstrated mastery of a wide range of research methodologies, including qualitative data collection techniques (e.g., in-depth interviews, focus group moderation, behavioral observation), quantitative data (e.g., survey design and analysis), and data synthesis.

  • Demonstrated analytical, organizational, and project management skills.

  • Comfortable working with some ambiguity; able to execute in a changing environment and adapt to new priorities.

  • Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

  • Advanced research training, via either a Master’s or PhD in a directly relevant field, or equivalent work experience.

  • Experience working within the technology sector or a similarly fast-paced, innovative, and global corporate environment.

  • Deep understanding of corporate real estate fundamentals.

This role is hybrid and goes into the office 3 days per week.
