Salesforce is looking for a Backend Software Engineer to join the Agentforce Core Engineering Team!

The Agentforce Core Engineering Team is responsible for developing and maintaining entities, APIs, and business logic that store configuration and state for the Agentforce Product and the new Digital Agent Platform. Your role is to help deliver the power of Agentforce and Generative AI Digital Agents to all of our clouds and build a platform that we can continue to enhance and evolve over time.

The ideal candidate will help us integrate new features end-to-end, assist with managing Salesforce processes, and mentor the team around Salesforce technologies. Experience with Salesforce Core development is highly desired.


As part of this team, you will:

  • Build, scale, and maintain critical and innovative features of the Agentforce Core platform, which is the foundation for Generative AI agents at Salesforce

  • Understand the customer/business requirements and translate them to elegant, flexible, and easy-to-use platform capabilities

  • Participate in Software Design discussions

  • Develop test strategies, design automation frameworks, write unit and functional tests to drive up code coverage and automation goals

  • Adopt, embrace, and promote agile development practices

  • Be a multiplier and have a passion for team and team members' success

  • Work in a fast paced and quickly evolving environment


Required Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • BS in Computer Science or a related technical degree

  • 3+ years of professional software development experience

  • High proficiency in Java programming language

  • Validated understanding of Database technologies such as SQL, PL/SQL, and relational database schema design

  • Experience in automated testing including unit and functional testing using Java, JUnit, JSUnit

  • Experience in REST-based API development, API lifecycle management and/or client SDKs development


Preferred Skills:

  • Salesforce Core Platform Experience

  • Track record of being a top performer in current and past roles

For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $200,800 to $276,100.

Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, benefits.
