Are you a UX researcher interested in creating meaningful people-driven digital experiences with a relentless focus on impact at scale and evangelizing the value of design? As an Associate UX Researcher, you’ll be responsible for defining, leading, analyzing, and socializing UX research studies in close partnership with UX designers, senior UX researchers, UX strategist, and product managers. You’ll scope, plan, recruit, execute and analyze all aspects of your research, across all of our business organizations within Salesforce—bringing data-backed insights to solve business challenges that impact both our internal employees, and external customer experience.
About Digital Enterprise Experience (DEX) UX Design
Digital Enterprise Experience (DEX) UX Design is an internal shared-services team within Salesforce, focused on employee experience across Salesforce’s internal infrastructure, as well as go-to-market user experience across a suite of customer- and market-facing salesforce.com domains. We help our own internal business units, like Employee Success, Global Safety & Security, Sales, and Customer Success, recognize and adapt to change in their business landscape. DEX UX partners with its business stakeholders to chart a course towards a more robust, AI-driven digital future, through human-centered design.
As a shared services UX team, our typical UX workstreams combine elements of strategic advisory, visioning, user research, design strategy, ideation, storytelling, value propositions, workshop facilitation, rapid prototyping, end-user concept testing, and product design. Responsibilities
Collaborate with product and UX teams to outline research plans, execute research, consolidate findings, and present meaningful insights
Plan, design, and lead research strategy that inform business, product and design decisions for multiple product areas in a domain
Define and consolidate quantitative and qualitative research, including surveys, usability studies, field studies, and more to provide insights on requirements definition, content strategy, wireframes, visual and interaction design
Work closely with partners across multiple teams to clearly define and prioritize user research needs and lead efforts to execute on necessary research
Identify and recommend the best methods to answer research questions and prioritize them according to schedule and opportunity constraints
Actively find opportunities to improve the user experience across your business domain
Estimate work effort and define work plans and research project timelines
Present actionable, creative, compelling insights and recommendations to multiple teams and stakeholders across the organization
Contribute to the team by providing research ops support, staying tapped into emerging trends and methods, leveraging your strengths to help others grow and evolve our team, the UX Research practice and our culture
Distill complex multi-method research reports into understandable, compelling, connected and actionable insights to multiple teams/leadership levels across the business domain
Basic Qualifications
1-3 years of relevant work experience (including internships) conducting research as part of an internal or agency team and/or academic studies in a relevant field (e.g., anthropology, business, behavioral science, design, psychology)
Experience with various research methods: in context qualitative research, diary studies, IDIs, moderated and unmoderated usability, and surveys
Experience working firsthand with UX design and software product teams and planning UX research across the product lifecycle
Ability to develop creative, flexible and rapid approaches to user experience problems
Effective communication and storytelling skills, with experience presenting to diverse audiences that translate findings into business impact
Strong understanding of design thinking and user-centered practices
Enthusiasm for working in a collaborative environment with a culture of feedback
Exemplary verbal, presentation, and written communication skills
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
Positive attitude, bias toward iteration & action, and ability to work with Product, Engineering, and Architecture colleagues in ways that build relationships and uplift UX maturity
We also seek someone with a creative streak, a love for experimentation and the desire and skills to deliver quickly
Preferred Qualifications
Experience conducting qualitative research in a B2B setting
Experience with enterprise software solutions
Experience working in digital and emerging technologies
Experience with journey mapping and storytelling
User testing platforms, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, LucidChart, and GPT model experience (Cursor and/or vibe-coding experience a plus)
Subject matter expertise in consumer product, Global Safety & Security, HR (including Employee Success), and/or Real Estate & Workplace Services functions and users a plus
