The Role


If you are someone who is excited about building world class services to transform our developer experiences and quality of our solutions, then please read on. We are the developer productivity and experiences team responsible for enabling all of Salesforce Technology to deliver best-of-class products with high Customer Trust and at Cloud Scale. We build highly Scalable, Secure, Reliable, Easy-to-use, and Intelligent services that are the foundation for all developers at Salesforce to innovate with high quality and great agility. This position is for the Artifact metadata and Governance platform (AMG) team that is responsible for ensuring policy adherence and compliance of every artifact produced and delivered in our path to production environments along with providing the visibility and traceability of these artifacts in providing a Secure SDLC platform for Salesforce developers.

We are looking for a strong software engineer with an eye and passion for quality. You will need deep experience with design and building high-quality solutions that are simple, elegant, and can scale to the demand of our customers. The solution need to be effective to amaze and delight the customers.
This role will encompass design, implementation, and testing to ensure we build products right and release them with high quality.


Your Impact

  • Experience designing, developing, debugging, and operating resilient distributed systems in the cloud.

  • Experience dealing with complex technical issues and drive innovations that improve system availability, resilience, and performance.

  • Design and implement complex, distributed platform for storing and processing data, scaling parallel algorithms.

  • Present your own designs to internal/external groups and review designs of others.

  • Develop test strategies, design automation frameworks, write unit/functional tests to drive up code coverage and automation metrics.

  • Collaborates and leads design discussions with leads and principal engineers.

  • Performs regular code and design reviews for features delivered by other developers.

  • Owns all stages in the iterative development pipeline from design, to implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.

  • Collaborates with other engineering teams (internal and external) to assist in the adoption of productivity tools and frameworks and find an opportunity to make our product better.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms.

  • Strong understanding of Java concepts and technologies, web containers (Apache Tomcat, Jetty), Spring framework.

  • High proficiency in at least one high-level programming language and web framework (NodeJS, Express).

  • Solid understanding of database technologies such as SQL, PL/SQL, and relational database schema design and its scalability techniques.

  • Proficiency in developing automated unit and integration tests and continuous integration.

  • Ability and willingness to participate in the on-call schedules to respond to production issues.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication.

  • AWS or GCP experience is a huge plus.


Education & Experience

  • 7+ years of software development experience.

  • A related technical degree required.

  • BS or MS degree in Computer science or equivalent.

  • At least 5 years professional Java development experience.

For Washington-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $184,000 to $253,000.

For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $200,800 to $276,100.
