CGD Lab Manager

The purpose of the position is to direct and manage SHINE commercial grade dedication (CGD) activities in support of equipment qualification for the construction and operation of the Chrysalis, a first-of-a-kind medical isotope facility located in Janesville, WI.
The base salary range for this position is $80,000 - $95,000 per year plus a comprehensive compensation package. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assist in the identification and hiring of lab technicians for CGD lab testing activities.
- Ensure staff are adequately trained and perform work in accordance with SHINE quality standards for lab activities.
- Manage work of lab technicians for execution phase of CGD and qualification plans.
- Provide input for lab budget to maintain facilities and equipment purchases.
- Provide reviews for CGD plans and qualification packages to qualify commercial items for QL-1 applications.
- Interface with Project Management and Construction organizations to coordinate qualification activities with installation dates.
- Interface with Engineering and Procurement Engineering to understand safety functions of items being tested.
- Develop Overage, Shortage, Damage, and Discrepant (OSDD) reports, as required.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, procedures, and specifications during dedication activities.
- A bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of nuclear industry experience preferred or equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
- Experience in commercial grade dedication (EPRI NP5652).
- Experience in equipment qualification.
- Understanding of nuclear facility principles and operation.
- Understanding of ASME NQA-1 requirements.
- Strong leadership and time management skills.
- Excellent written, verbal and non-verbal communications skills.
- Must be skilled in the use of Microsoft 365 software.
Eligibility for employment is conditioned on the applicant’s ability to qualify for access to information subject to U.S. Export Controls. Additionally, applicant’s eligibility may be conditioned based upon meeting the Nuclear Regulatory Commission requirements for access to Safeguards Information, which typically requires a pre-employment drug screen, fingerprinting and criminal background check.
