Role Description:
The Transportation Final Mile Procurement Manager is responsible for supporting the development, negotiation, and management of relationships with final mile carriers and partners to help deliver cost-effective, high-performing transportation solutions. This role will assist with strategic sourcing, contract management, operational alignment, and ensuring compliance with company standards. It will also support oversight of carrier claims and invoice auditing processes to maintain financial and service integrity within the network. This role reports to the Director, Transportation Procurement, who also serves as the backup for this role.
What you’ll do:
- Strategic Procurement & Carrier Management
- Execute sourcing strategies for final mile carriers to support company growth and service objectives.
- Support contract negotiations to secure competitive rates, service levels, and performance agreements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and new final mile carriers.
- Conduct ongoing market analysis to identify emerging carrier partners and service innovations.
- Carrier Performance & Operational Oversight
- Ensure carriers deliver on contracted SLAs by partnering with operations to monitor operational performance metrics (on-time delivery, damage rates, customer satisfaction, etc.) and addressing gaps through quarterly business reviews.
- Partner with Operations and Network teams to support seamless carrier integration and consistent service delivery, while holding carriers accountable to contractual commitments.
- Carrier Claims Management
- Oversee and manage the carrier claims process, including claims for loss, damage, and service failures.
- Partner with internal teams and carriers to support timely resolution and recovery of costs related to claims.
- Partner with Final Mile carrier team to analyze trends in carrier claims and provide recommendations for process improvement or carrier performance remediation.
- Carrier Invoice Audit & Financial Integrity
- Review and audit carrier invoices to ensure alignment with contracted rates, service levels, and agreed-upon terms.
- Identify and resolve billing discrepancies, overcharges, or unauthorized accessorial charges.
- Implement controls and reporting to monitor invoice accuracy and prevent financial leakage.
- Collaborate with Finance and Accounts Payable teams for timely and accurate carrier payments.
- Responsible for the selection, approval, and ongoing oversight of third-party transportation providers to ensure product safety, legality, and quality during distribution. Develops and enforces contracts and performance monitoring systems aligned with regulatory and merchant requirements. Collaborates with stie and safety teams to address non-conformances and ensure corrective actions are implemented.

What you’ll bring to the table:
- 5–7 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or finance-related audit or operations role.
- Established track record managing carrier contracts, negotiations, and vendor relationships in a multi-carrier final mile network.
- Understanding of parcel and freight carrier billing and shipping practices (FedEx, UPS, USPS, DHL, LTL, FTL).
- Exposure to high-volume, multi-site logistics operations preferred.
- Proficiency in Excel and data validation; comfortable with TMS, ERP, or shipping platforms.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and financial acumen.
- Solid analytical mindset and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate across departments.

ShipBob believes in transparency while providing a competitive total compensation package with a pay for performance approach. The full base pay range for this position in our compensation architecture is $67,973 - $113,288. In addition to base salary, this role includes the opportunity to be eligible for participation in the Company's discretionary bonus plan based on Company's plans and in accordance with Company’s policies.
