Steelcase is hiring an Investigator to join our Global Integrity team in Grand Rapids, MI. This role offers a unique opportunity to conduct Global investigations into matters that pose a high risk to the organization such as ethical violations, employee misconduct, and fraud.
You will conduct interviews, gather evidence, and present findings to ensure Steelcase is safeguarding its strong culture of integrity across our organization.
What You Will Be Doing:
  • Lead fair, objective investigations into misconduct, ethics violations, fraud, discrimination, harassment, and other compliance concerns.
  • Conduct thorough interviews with complainants, witnesses, and subjects while ensuring confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Gather, evaluate, and synthesize evidence from documents, digital records, and testimony.
  • Deliver clear, well-structured investigative reports that outline findings and conclusions.
  • Support the management and oversight of the whistleblower helpline platform.
  • Spot trends and recurring issues to aid in risk-mitigation strategies.
Who You Are:
You are an objective investigator with strong interview, analytical, and communication skills. You thrive in handling sensitive matters with discretion, balancing compliance with empathy, and ensuring consistency in enforcement of company standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • At least 2 years of experience conducting workplace investigations, either as a primary responsibility or as part of a broader role
  • Strong interviewing and evidence-gathering skills
  • Familiarity with key workplace laws and compliance standards, and the awareness to identify when issues may pose risks
  • Experience in handling highly sensitive and confidential matters
  • Associates Degree
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, Criminal Justice, Human Resources, or a related field
  • CFE Certification
  • Interview & Interrogation training (Reid, Wicklander-Zulawski, Kinesic)
  • Experience navigating cross-functional processes within a corporate or global organization
  • Prior experience in HR, Compliance, Legal, Audit, or Employee Relations functions
  • Experience working across different regions and organizational cultures
  • Familiarity with case management systems or investigation tracking tools
