President, Re:Build Thermoplastic Composites

Thermoplastic composites offer distinct advantages over other materials, including cost, weight, durability, and performance. Re:Build possesses an innovative manufacturing process for cost effectively forming complex parts from thermoplastic composites, which can displace substantially more expensive thermoset composite or metallic parts in a wide range of applications. Today, Re:Build’s thermoplastic composites business has operations in Denver, CO and Cleveland, OH, and a dedicated R&D operation to support technology development for applications and production equipment. Today the business has ~$10MM in annual revenue. We have the technical acumen, cost position, and capital to grow the business to $100MM+. We’ve identified the first market opportunities to begin that journey, but more are needed. We’re seeking a leader to identify further opportunities, codify our processes, drive development of reference designs, oversee and coach our operational team, and engage large target markets in a coordinated way.

Our customers span a wide array of industries including aerospace, defense, mobility, healthcare, pharma, biotech, clean tech, chemicals, energy, lifestyle, food production, and industrial equipment.

Who we are looking for

We seek an experienced leader familiar with commercializing manufacturing offerings or services and bringing new manufacturing technologies to market – identifying the market opportunities, framing the value proposition, directing R&D to support the most meaningful opportunities, and leading the coordinated efforts of commercial, engineering, manufacturing and other support functions. Based in Denver, CO and reporting to our CEO, as President you will lead the business to significant growth in scale, product and customer mix, facilities footprint, and team members.

The ideal candidate brings experience leading the adoption of new manufacturing processes and services through shaping market strategies and leading the efforts of teams in R&D, technical development, engineering, and production to build strong customer engagements. They will understand what it takes to successfully define sizeable market segments that align with our technology, develop and deliver demonstration parts in target markets, and drive commercial engagement with customers with similar requirements. They will have significant experience leading a P&L, strong business acumen, an analytical and creative approach to problem-solving, a continuous improvement mentality, and excellent coaching and motivational skills.

What you get to do

  • Lead the expansion of Re:Build’s thermoplastic composites business in partnership with Re:Build functional teams by identifying target adoption opportunities, developing demonstration products and supporting processes, then executing commercial strategies to demonstrate capability and expand our customer base with lasting engagements.
  • Driven by targeted market opportunities, develop investment strategies to build capabilities, demonstrate market applicability, and support scaling of operations.
  • Shape and implement business expansion strategies and plans for both the short and long term to grow the business by 10x to $100MM and beyond.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence aligned with the Principles of The Re:Build Way.

What you bring to the team

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business, Engineering, Operations, or related field required; advanced degree (MBA, MS Engineering) preferred.
  • Track record as a transformational leader – successfully shaping strategy and leveraging market insights, technology and process development, targeted investments, and customer engagements to drive growth.
  • 10 years of progressive leadership in manufacturing industries with commercial experience preferred.
  • Prior P&L ownership, with strong strategic and financial acumen and demonstrated ability to drive growth through market understanding, commercial engagement, new product adoption, and operational excellence.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams, identifying and entering new markets, driving top-line growth, and scaling organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a highly collaborative environment, successfully building relationships and leveraging shared resources and capabilities to move the business forward.
  • Strong market intelligence, analytical, financial modeling, and creative problem-solving skills.
