We have invented the first and only autonomous wheel in the world, and now we want you to join our team. We are expanding the company globally and are seeking a Robotics Test Engineer to come on board in Detroit.

The primary goal of your team is to engineer stable, robust, and scalable robotic software that can revolutionize the real-world applications of wheel.me robots. The team is dedicated to enhancing the operational capabilities of these robots to ensure they excel in various practical scenarios. In our pursuit of excellence, we remain in sync with cutting-edge technologies related to the wheel.me robotic business, such as connectivity, computer vision, controls, perception, and machine learning/AI. By leveraging these technological innovations, we aim to bolster the performance, adaptability, and overall utility of our robotic systems in the dynamic and ever-evolving landscape of the real world.

As a Robotics Test Engineer, you would play an integral role in ensuring product stability and providing efficient field support. It requires a distinctive combination of exceptional technical expertise, effective communication skills, and a structured approach to testing robotic systems in real-world scenarios. In this position, you will also have the opportunity for some travel to client sites, all expenses paid.

What you will be doing at Wheel.me:

  • Develop a meticulous and organized testing plan
  • Conduct stress tests on both new and existing robotics features throughout all phases of development
  • Actively seek out new knowledge and technologies in robotics areas
  • Collaborate closely with engineers from various disciplines to improve the robotic systems
  • Replicate robotic system issues observed at customer sites for efficient field support
  • Forge strong collaborative bonds with our dedicated team of robotics experts based in Norway

If you find this opportunity exciting, we believe you possess the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Autonomous Systems, or a related field
  • Proven hands-on technical experience with robotic systems and ROS (Robotic Operation System).
  • Exceptional communication skills, enabling you to convey complex information effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Self-driven, independent, and results-oriented, with a strong commitment to ensuring the successful operation of wheel.me robots in real-world scenarios.
  • A commercial and start-up mindset, eager to contribute to the growth and development of our robotics solutions.

It would also be nice if you have:

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in an equal or similar role
  • Experience working with C/C++, Python, CAN bus, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Docker, Github, Azure DevOps
  • Proficiency in electronics and mechanical systems, particularly in the context of robotic systems.
