What’s so interesting about this role?

This is a rare chance to help shape the future of Grindr, not just as a product, but as a global community. In this role, you’ll build and lead the team that powers Grindr’s next chapter of growth, innovation, and cultural impact. You’ll be at the heart of our Gayborhood vision, ensuring our business operations are firing on all cylinders while partnering closely with functions across the company to identify strategic opportunities for Grindr while building 0 to 1 capability that enables long-term business growth. For a leader who wants to make a tangible difference in how millions of LGBTQ+ people connect and thrive, this is an opportunity to leave a lasting mark.

This is an exciting opportunity to step into a truly transformative role at Grindr - shaping the way the company operates and scales into the future. You’ll be part of a team driving operational strategy in lockstep with commercial strategy. For a commercially minded operator who thrives at the intersection of strategy, operations, business, and culture, this is a chance to make an outsized impact on one of the world’s most influential LGBTQ+ platforms.

What’s the job?

Grindr needs a business-first operator who can bridge the gap between commercial strategy and operations, ensuring we have the capabilities and operational discipline to execute on our ambitious goals. This is neither a pure strategy role nor a pure operations role; we’ll expect you to be equally comfortable assessing strategy at 10,000 feet, deep in the weeds of a financial model calculating total addressable market or running a cross-functional quarterly planning process.

This individual will partner with various functions across Grindr from Product to Finance, or People to Legal, while also centralizing Business Operations work streams, freeing up our executives from day-to-day ops and ensuring that our teams operate as more than the sum of their parts.

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is excited by the prospect of building the global Gayborhood by productizing new use cases, expanding into adjacent businesses, and delivering strong financial results for shareholders – while ensuring that Grindr runs like a well-oiled machine through rapid growth.

What you’ll work on:

  • Strategic & Operational Planning and Business Partnership

  • Translate Grindr’s commercial strategy into a clear operational strategy, ensuring our approach to operations and organizational capabilities enable execution at scale.

  • Serve as a strategic advisor and operational partner to our executive team

  • Lead initiatives that improve how the company operates - raising accountability, alignment, and management discipline.

Building 0 to 1 capability

  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to design and launch new business capabilities from the ground up, transforming strategic priorities into scalable processes, tools, and structures

  • Bring founder mode energy

Business Operations

  • Build out our BizOps function to streamline processes, create ownership, and increase executive leverage.

  • Drive operational planning, performance tracking, and cross-functional initiatives that ensure the company runs smoothly and efficiently.

  • Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks, decentralization issues, and execution gaps.

What we'll love about you

  • Proven track record as a business-oriented leader with 4-10 years of experience in a combination strategic and operational roles

  • Experience in scaling fast-growing companies, ideally in consumer tech or media.

  • Strong generalist business acumen - comfortable with financials, commercial strategy, and operational decision-making.

  • Strategic thinker with a bias toward action. You’re comfortable moving from analysis to execution in ambiguous settings

  • Ability to synthesize and communicate complex topics, clearly and concisely

  • Excellent communication, influence, and leadership skills; able to align executives and inspire teams.

  • A passion for Grindr’s mission and a deep respect for LGBTQ+ culture and community.
