Job Description

  • The Director Marketing is responsible for providing direction guidance and leadership both directly and indirectly across the Marketing department in support of the company’s go to market strategy. This position works cross functionally and is responsible for partnering with business leaders across the company to drive the company’s global marketing plan.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with leadership to develop execute and manage the strategic business plan to include 3-5 year vision.
  • Responsible for strategy planning and execution of the company’s global marketing plan.
  • Empower develop and manage a team of professionals within the functional roles in marketing including solution marketing program marketing and field marketing.
  • Drive accountability around business decisions cross functionally and when applicable make decisions on behalf of the marketing team that advances the business.
  • Serve on the marketing leadership team as well as the cross-functional leadership teams ensuring alignment to company priorities.
  • Define opportunities and initiatives based on clear understanding of the needs of the business across sales services and product.
  • Perform stakeholder management across levels of leadership to gain support and plan effectively.
  • Build relationships and use influence to work in matrixed environments across different teams and departments.
  • Work with leadership to plan the strategic vision organizational structure operating policies and procedures and management practices to ensure department delivers operational excellence.
  • Critically and consistently evaluate effectiveness of team efforts regularly evaluating policies procedures and processes for improvement.
  • Serve as an escalation point for issues; provide guidance and resolve issues as necessary.
  • Manage and direct all aspects of performance and compensation management for direct reports and provide coaching and development opportunities.
  • Mentor develop and coach team members.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Marketing Communications or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years progressively responsible experience in Marketing-related functions with a B2B software company or SAAS preferred
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in prior management
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate a dynamic and creative team
  • Significant experience developing and managing marketing plans and budgets
  • Strong expertise in preparing presenting advocating and defending innovative ideas in group settings within cross-functional teams
  • Strong project management experience and ability to effectively collaborate cross functionally toward a common project goal
  • Ability to build and maintain trust-based collaborative relationships and influence others. Excellent oral and written communication skills that demonstrate a professional demeanor and the ability to interact with others with discretion and tact
  • Excellent collaboration skills applied successfully within team as well as with other areas
  • Ability to self-direct and self-motivate efforts and the efforts of the team both short and long term to meet deadlines and maintain high quality content without the need for close supervision
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced high growth environment and work collaboratively across departments
  • Demonstrated understanding of corporate finance and ROI practices
  • Detail oriented team player with cross-functional project leadership and strong team management skills
  • Up to 50% travel time required
  • Above qualifications or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the principal duties of the job
