Description Overview

Join our Commercial team as a Sales Support & Analytics Intern, where you will gain hands-on experience analyzing sales and customer data, supporting business strategy, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. In this role, you will work with tools such as Salesforce, Power BI, and Excel to develop reports, dashboards, and actionable insights that help optimize sales performance and business decision-making. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, support strategic projects, and present recommendations to leadership while building valuable skills in analytics, business operations, and commercial strategy. This internship offers an excellent opportunity for students interested in data analytics, business intelligence, and sales operations to make a meaningful impact in a fast-paced business environment.

Scope of the Role

  • Lead one or more strategic projects and present recommendations and findings to Commercial leadership.
  • Analyze sales, customer, and business performance data from internal systems, including Salesforce, Power BI, and other commercial data sources.
  • Develop reports, dashboards, and visualizations that provide actionable insights to sales, sales operations, and leadership teams.
  • Support the collection, validation, and maintenance of commercial data to improve data quality and decision-making.
  • Identify trends, opportunities, and business risks through analysis of sales performance, customer activity, and operational metrics.
  • Partner with Sales, Sales Operations, Marketing, Insights & Analytics, and other cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and strategic projects.
  • Assist with Salesforce administration activities, including reporting, dashboards, user support, data management, and process improvements.
  • Leverage Power BI and other reporting platforms to transform data into meaningful business recommendations.
  • Support account planning, promotional analysis, forecasting, and sales effectiveness initiatives.
  • Collaborate with business partners to gather requirements, document business needs, and recommend process improvements.
  • Set performance goals, define learning objectives, and complete project deliverables under the guidance of a supervisor and mentor.

Experience Required

  • Pursuing a degree in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and communicate data insights.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Salesforce, or other business intelligence and CRM tools.
  • Ability to organize, analyze, and present large data sets in a clear and meaningful way.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Considerations

  • Positions available in Grand Rapids and Allegan, Michigan – ability to work at both locations is advantageous.
  • Full-time position, requiring 40 hours per week.
  • Selected interns must be present for the full 14-week duration of the Summer Aspire Program from May 11- August 12.
