Columbus Startup SureImpact Raises $2M to Measure Philanthropic Impact

Columbus startup SureImpact has raised $2 million to help nonprofits measure, understand, and share their philanthropic impact.

The seed round was led by Rev1 Ventures, with additional support from Queen City Angels and other angel investors.

Founded in 2020, SureImpact is a cloud-based software platform that allows mission-driven organizations to easily manage, measure and communicate their unique social impact.

“SureImpact is making the impossible possible by helping nonprofits analyze and benchmark their initiatives with an easy-to-understand impact management solution,” Sheri Chaney Jones, founder and CEO of SureImpact, said in a press release. “With the support of our investors, SureImpact is enabling more social-good leaders to realize the full value of real-time insights that prove the effectiveness and impact of their work.”

The cloud-based software platform also announced a new partnership with the city of Columbus.

The Department of Development initiative connects 112 nonprofit human service organizations with real-time information to know where their money is best spent.

“Sheri and SureImpact are changemakers, and we’re pleased to support their mission of streamlining access to data to improve outcomes for nonprofits,” said Kristy Campbell, COO of Rev1 Ventures. “With an innovative product and a proven track record, the sky's the limit for SureImpact, and we’re excited to help support them in their next phase of growth.”

SureImpact has nearly 2,000 users managing more than 90,000 individuals enrolled across initiatives.

SureImpact says it has grown to eight employees to keep pace with “an explosive increase in adoption” over the past three years.

It notes there are nearly 1.8 million nonprofits in the U.S. and that “measuring the impact of community collaboratives and collective initiatives has never been more important.”

The round brings SureImpact’s cumulative fundraising to $2.6 million since it was founded in February 2020, according to Columbus Business First.
